Officers investigating a serious road traffic collision are appealing for dash-cam footage and witnesses to come forward.
The incident occurred just after 7pm on October 26, when a black BMW M3 travelling just south of Junction 15 on the northbound carriageway is believed to have been clipped by an unknown vehicle.
This caused the car to spin and collide with the nearside barrier before coming to rest on the bank. As a result of the collision the driver – a man in his 60s – was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage of the actual collision which could help identify the other vehicle involved.
Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
Incident number: 22000626107
