The Conservative group on West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) has confirmed that Cllr Adam Brown has been elected as its new leader.
Cllr Brown was previously the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group and the Council.
Cllr Matt Golby was also elected as the new Deputy Leader. They will now go forward as the Conservative group’s nominations as Leader and Deputy Leader of WNC at the Council’s AGM on 16th May.
Both Cllr Adam Brown and Cllr Matt Golby bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to West Northamptonshire Council and look forward to continuing the good work already achieved. Both they and the wider Conservative group now look forward to working on residents’ priorities and making WNC a sustainable and high performing local authority.
Cllr Brown, a ward member for Bugbrooke, has been a councillor since 2016, previously serving on Daventry District Council and Northamptonshire County Council. He has a professional background in financial services and lives in Northampton with his wife and young son.
Cllr Brown said “I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as the new Conservative Group Leader. As somebody who was born and raised in the area, if Council does elect me as Leader next month, then to have the opportunity to serve the communities I know so well will be a fantastic privilege and I will continue to work tirelessly for all our residents.”
