Witnesses are being sought after a man was assaulted by a group of teenagers in the Wellingborough Road area of Rushden.
Between 10pm and 11pm on Monday, April 25, a man in his 20s was struck with a hammer by a member of the group, before being kicked and punched by up to six other boys.
The assault started in Wellingborough Road and continued into Pemberton Street before moving into Moor Road.
The offenders were white boys, aged 15-18 and wore dark coloured tracksuits with the hoods up. Two rode off on pedal cycles from Moor Road and back towards the Wellingborough Road area.
Witnesses or anyone with information which could assist the investigation are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
